Dear Parents,
Kindly take notice that the Federal Ministry of Education (FME) has approved opening of schools across the country for the purpose of preparing and conducting external examinations ONLY. In clear terms, reopening of schools for now is for transition classes ONLY.
Consequent upon the above, the school management has decided as follows:
1. All JSS 3 students are to resume school on Monday, 10th August 2020.
2. All Primary 5 pupils are to resume school on Monday, 26th September, 2020.
Parents are to note that Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) commences on 24th August, 2020 while the one day National Common Entrance Examination takes place on 17th October, 2020.
In order to fashion out modalities for full online classes across all the grades of the School, management is scheduling a meeting of the Parents Teachers Forum on Saturday, 22nd August, 2020 by 10am. Attendance of this meeting is strongly recommended as details relating to continuation of classes, status of the outgone 2019/2020 academic session and commencement of the next academic session would be discussed and agreed upon.
Further, all parents with wards in the transition classes should note the instructions below:
i. Wearing of face mask and face shield is compulsory. No teacher, staff, pupil, student, parent or visitor would be allowed within the school premises without a face mask and face shield,
ii. Use of designated areas for washing hands and temperature checks is compulsory upon entry into the school,
iii. Classes would take place 6 days a week including Saturdays,
iv. Classes commence by 9.00am daily and closes by 2.30pm. All parents must pick their wards by 3.00pm,
v. No use of playground and break time is limited to only one for 30 munutes for the purpose of refreshment, and
vi. Use of school uniform is not mandatory except during external examination days.
Parents should be assured that the school has taking all necessary steps in accordance with the NCDC & FME protocol for schools reopening.
Further, we are pleased to inform parents that the National Examination Council (NECO) has approved our accreditation as a centre for the BECE examinations. Therefore, this external examination would be conducted within the school premises.
